2018 Pre-College Program Application

TO APPLY, STUDENTS MUST SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING MATERIALS:

- This online application form and a non-refundable $50 application fee. Application fees can be submitted via check to DigiPen Institute of Technology (9931 Willows Road NE, Redmond, WA 98052), by phone at 425-629-5007, or by creating an account (go to "Register/Login" on the ProjectFUN website) and submitting the fee online. This fee is waived for applications received before April 1, 2018.

- An official high school transcript that includes a list of all completed courses and grades earned, mailed to DigiPen Institute of Technology, ATTN: ProjectFUN Administration (9931 Willows Road NE, Redmond, WA 98052).

- A Statement of Purpose that discusses your reasons for applying to the Pre-College Program and how these reasons relate to your personal, educational, and/or professional goals. The Statement of Purpose must include the applicant’s name and the program to which he or she is applying at the top of each page, and the date of submission on the last page. The essay must be typed, double-spaced, and no longer than two pages, and uploaded as a .pdf or .doc file within this online application.

- An optional letter of recommendation from a teacher in the student’s subject area of interest. Letters of recommendation from family members or friends will not be considered.

- Game Programming and Computer Engineering applicants must submit proof of completion of Algebra 2.

- Game Design applicants must submit a one- to two-paragraph writing sample that describes their favorite non-digital game and explain why it is their favorite, including one rule that they would change and why.

- Game Art applicants must submit five drawings from observation.

- Music and Sound Design applicants must provide a self-assessment of their ability to play provided sheet music. A copy of the assessment is available for download on the Pre-College: Music and Sound Design webpage.
